How to spot fake crystals
Bangalore's markets and online stores are full of dyed glass and plastic beads sold as crystals. Some simple checks:
- Too perfect: natural stones have small variations in colour and pattern. Every bead looking identical is a warning sign.
- Very bright colour: dyed stones are often unnaturally bright, with colour collecting in cracks.
- Too light: most real stones feel cool and slightly heavy in the hand.
- Very cheap: genuine AAA-grade crystal bracelets cannot be sold for a few hundred rupees.
