Many bracelets sold in markets and online are dyed glass or plastic. Watch for:
- Every bead identical. Natural stones always vary a little in colour and pattern.
- Very bright colour. Dyed stones often look unnaturally bright, with colour gathered in the cracks.
- Light weight. Real stones feel cool and slightly heavy in the hand.
- Very low price. Genuine AAA-grade bracelets cannot be sold for a few hundred rupees.
